Alan Ball

I am a solicitor specialising in brain injury and spinal injury cases arising out of various accidents, including road traffic collisions, accidents at work and other accidents. I represent both adults and children.

I have worked in the Serious Injury team at Irwin Mitchell for over two years, having been a Trainee Solicitor from May 2015 to August 2016 and having qualified as a Solicitor in September 2016.

What Inspired You To Get Into Law?

From an early age I have always wanted to work in a profession which helps vulnerable people, so a career as a Serious Injury Solicitor really appealed to me. I wanted to practice an area of law where I could help people receive the support they need following the difficult time that can occur following a serious accident.

What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?

The feeling of making a difference to a client and their family's life following an injury, by ensuring that they receive the right support to assist them in their recovery and to move on with their life safe in the knowledge that they have received the financial award to allow them to do so.

What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?

Irwin Mitchell is the leading personal injury firm in the UK, so it was always my ambition to work here. I am proud of Irwin Mitchell's commitment to ensuring all clients have access to early rehabilitation where possible, even if their claim is not ultimately successful. The firm is very client focussed and prides itself on this.

What Do You Do Away From The Office?

I am a big fan of football and play football for the Irwin Mitchell 5 a side team in the local league. I also support my team, Everton FC, and will regularly attend games. I also enjoy travelling to new places with my wife and socialising with friends at the weekend.

Lawyers & Charity Team Up To Enlighten Students On Glow Day

“At Irwin Mitchell, we see first-hand the devastating impact, long or short-term, the injuries sustained in road accidents can have. That is why we are proud to support Child Brain Injury Trust’s ‘Glow Day’ initiative. “Seeing this impact is why we are passionate about getting the message about road safety out there to children to ensure they know how to keep themselves safe when walking or cycling in the winter. “This is the fourth year we have supported ‘Glow Day,’ and last year we gave a similar presentation at Ireland Wood School. We hope the pupils at Fairfield School got as much out of our presentation as the pupils at Ireland Wood School got from it.”
