I am a Solicitor in the Medical Negligence team in our London office. I qualified in September 2014.
I specialise in representing people who've been injured as a result of medical negligence by hospitals, healthcare providers or by their GP. I also have experience in helping families who have lost a loved one and need representation at an inquest.
I manage my own varied case load covering a full range of medical issues including:
- Birth injury claims
- Retinopathy of prematurity claims
- Orthopaedic claims
- Claims involving a delay in diagnosis of cancer
- Fatal claims
- Surgical claims.
I also assist other members of the team in various high value and complex cases involving spinal injuries, paralysis, and birth injuries.
On a daily basis, I work hard to achieve the best results for clients. I explain the litigation process in detail and endeavour to get the most compensation I can get for the client. I also help clients access rehabilitation to assist in their quality of life.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
Law is a complex, challenging but rewarding career path. To be intellectually stimulated whilst helping people and making a difference is why I wanted to pursue a career in law.
Guiding people and helping people through, what can be, the most difficult stage in their life, is something that I have always wanted to do. Medical Negligence in particular is extremely varied and it is this diverse range that makes working in law exciting and stimulating.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
To meet such inspiring individuals who have been through such hardship but want to make the most of their situation is why I feel privileged to work in this role. It's extremely rewarding to be able to work alongside them and give them the compensation and rehabilitation they need to live their lives.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
My colleagues at Irwin Mitchell are passionate and dedicated to every client that steps through the door. The firm as a whole is involved in charitable work across the country. Due to the size of the firm, clients have access to a wide range of expertise, including Court of Protection, Public Law, Employment and Probate departments.
However, clients also have access to our small, specialised close-knit teams. I am Chair of the Junior Lawyers Division at Irwin Mitchell and also run jointly, with a Partner of the firm, a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to support our local communities.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I enjoy dancing, attending the ballet, theatre and musicals as well as spending time with my family and friends.
