Guests At Two Stone House Court Hotel Weddings Fell Ill
Expert Public Health Lawyers have called for answers after guests of two weddings held at the Stone House Court Hotel in Gloucester suffered from norovirus in the days after visiting the venue.
Hundreds of guests are reported to have attended the weddings on April 15 and 16 with a number coming down with the bug, which causes diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach pains.
A deep clean has now been carried out at the hotel, which is operated by Bespoke Hotels, and local environmental health officials were informed of the outbreak.
Expert Public Health Lawyers at Irwin Mitchell, who currently represent more than 300 people affected by a norovirus outbreak at the Exeter Arms, a Toby Carvery restaurant in Middlemoor, have called for a thorough investigation and for answers to be provided to those affected by this outbreak.
Clare Comiskey, an Associate and expert Public Health Lawyer at Irwin Mitchell, who is part of the specialist team who have represented thousands of people affected by gastric illness in the UK and abroad, said:
Expert Opinion
The reports of a norovirus outbreak impacting wedding guests at the Stone House Court Hotel are concerning.

“Norovirus is extremely contagious and can leave victims suffering with terrible symptoms that have a huge impact on their day-to-day lives. It is vital that any issues of this nature are investigated fully and those affected are provided with the answers they deserve about what caused them to fall ill.

“In our work on domestic illness outbreaks, we have seen just how serious the consequences of illnesses of this nature are. We welcome the decision to undertake a deep clean at the hotel and hope reassurances are provided that any measures required to try to prevent incidents like this in the future will be implemented immediately.
