Volunteers In Rotherham To Be Recognised At Awards Event
Lawyers from Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office will help to recognise the impact of volunteers across South Yorkshire as the law firm prepares to sponsor the Project category at the Rotherham Community Achievement Awards.
The awards event, which is in their 12th year, will take place on 20 November at the Carlton Park Hotel in Rotherham.
It provides an opportunity to celebrate the work of individuals and specific projects in the voluntary and community sector that have made a significant difference or contribution to the communities in and around Rotherham.
The awards, which are organised by Voluntary Action Rotherham, an organisation dedicated to supporting, developing and promoting the voluntary and community sector in the Rotherham borough, are split into three categories:
• Volunteer – recognising an individual volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to the communities in Rotherham.
• Young Volunteer (under 25) – celebrating outstanding contributions by young volunteers.
• Project – recognising a project in Rotherham that has made a difference to the lives of those who live in and around the town.
This year, Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office is sponsoring the Project award.
Alison Gregory, an expert personal injury lawyer from the law firm who will be attending the event, said:
Expert Opinion
“The work of volunteers is invaluable to local communities and we are delighted to be able to sponsor this year’s Project award at the Community Achievement Awards, which will celebrate the hard work of many individuals and dedicated volunteer-driven projects.
“Without the voluntary sector many people would not get the support and advice they need to be able to live their lives to the best of their ability and we have seen through our work just how much of an impact the work of volunteers can have on the wider community and individuals within the community.
“The work done by Voluntary Action Rotherham and those who dedicate their time to the communities of Rotherham is amazing and it’s is great this event will take the time to recognise their efforts.” Alison Gregory - Chartered Legal Executive
