Law Firm Irwin Mitchell Sponsors Teenage Cyclist
An up-and-coming cyclist sponsored by a Bristol law firm has joined double Olympian Dani King for a once-in-a-lifetime track day experience at Lee Valley Velo Park.Joe Hiscott, 16, attends Bristol Grammar School and cycles for Newport Velo. Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol office sponsor Joe’s equipment and his kit, so he can continue his training at the Newport Velodrome.
Jonathan Peacock, who is the Regional Managing Partner for the Bristol office, bid for this great opportunity for Joe at an auction organised by Headway – the brain injury association, a national charity that supports people affected by brain injury. The auction, which was hosted by former Antique's Roadshow presenter, Eric Knowles, was held as part of the charity's national Annual Awards Luncheon in December at The Dorchester Hotel, in London.
Irwin Mitchell work closely with the brain injury charity in a number of our offices around the country.
Joe said: “It was a fantastic experience for me too meet Dani, she has achieved so much and she is an inspiration to me – it was an amazing day with her and I feel like I learnt a lot.
“I am very proud to have received sponsorship from Irwin Mitchell. I have been able to upgrade my track bike and the new kit looks excellent. This will really open up opportunities for me, helping me further improve my cycling skills and build up more experience.”
