Serious injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have backed calls for improved safety on the roads after a 10-year-old girl suffered serious injuries when the pony she was riding was spooked by a group of cyclists.
Reports suggest the cyclists failed to slow down for a group of horses and riders in Teddington, Gloucestershire.
Grace Burton, 10, fell from her pony when it became scared and bolted, dislocating her knee. She was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and received treatment for her injuries.
Her parents and the British Horse Society have called on all road users to take responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
