Fourteen members of the group fell ill with suspected norovirus and suffered from symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches and fever. They have also reported to the lawyers that other people staying at the hotel at the time appeared to be suffering with similar symptoms.
Lawyers at Irwin Mitchell, who have represented those affected by recent illness outbreaks linked to the Real China restaurant in Eastleigh, and members of a wedding party who fell ill after a reception at The Riverside, Leeds, have now begun an investigation into the cause of the outbreak which is thought to be linked to the Lyndene Hotel in Blackpool.
Local environmental health officials have been made aware of the outbreak at the hotel and are investigating to determine the source or sources of the outbreak.
