By Rob Dixon
An investigation has been launched after nine people fell ill at the 'Firm, Figure and Beauty' Salon in Powys following a suspected carbon monoxide leak at the site.
Customers and staff were reportedly affected by the problems on Wednesday (August 21st) and taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for checks. Emergency services were called and fire crews confirmed the presence of carbon monoxide.
The Health and Safety Executive is now investigating the cause of the leak.

“Employers and businesses have a responsibility to ensure that customers and their staff are kept safe from any potential risks to their health and safety, so these reports are clearly a concern. The families of all of those involved will want to know what happened, why and what can be done to prevent it happening again.
“It is widely known that exposure to carbon monoxide can have terrible and sometimes tragic consequences, so it is vital that everything possible can be done to ensure this incident is not repeated.”
