Deal Illustrates New Owner's Long-Term Commitment
The Sheffield office of law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has advised Wakefield-based Anglia Metal Limited on its circa £2m acquisition of the factory in Normanton formerly occupied by Tri-Wire Limited.
Normanton-based copper wire manufacturer, Tri-Wire, was bought by Anglia in a pre-packaged deal at the end of May 2012 after its parent company, B3 Industries, was placed into administration. The deal saved 30 personnel from unemployment.
In a move which illustrates Anglia’s commitment to the long-term future of the business, the management team has purchased Tri-Wire’s factory rather than take on the existing lease. Anglia Metal is planning to use the existing 55,000 sq ft. facility in Normanton for the production of copper wire for telecom, industrial, automotive and building cable sectors.
Partner Paul Firth and solicitor David Goy from Irwin Mitchell’s Real Estate team in Sheffield advised Anglia’s management team on the deal.
David said: “We are delighted to complete this latest deal on behalf of Anglia. The initial pre-pack deal back in May was important as it safeguarded jobs, but this latest acquisition is just as significant as it points to Anglia’s long-term commitment to the facility.”
