Collision Between School Bus And Car
A crash between a car and a school bus in Cumbria yesterday left three people dead and many more injured.
The crash occurred as the Keswick High School pupils were travelling home along the A66.
A 16-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy were killed in the accident, along with the driver of a Honda Civic.
Most of those injured in the crash were taken to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, although some of the most seriously injured were taken to hospitals in Preston, Newcastle and Middlesbrough.
Collision investigators are trying to determine the cause of the accident and local police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
Just last week two drivers were killed and 12 children injured in a similar incident involving a school bus and a car in Warwickshire.
