Special Needs and Parental Support (SNAPS)
A Leeds based charity is inviting nominations for its Big T Awards, an opportunity to say thanks to the people who make a big difference to your lives.
Special Needs and Parental Support (SNAPS) is holding The Big T Awards in conjunction with law firm Irwin Mitchell's special personal injury team. The awards are intended to recognise those individuals, teams or organisations who have gone that extra mile in supporting families with a child with a disability.
Rachelle Mahapatra, head of the Clinical Negligence team injury at Irwin Mitchell said: "The Big T awards are your opportunity to say a Big Thank You to people who make a positive difference to your lives.
"We have already had a good response but we want to encourage and celebrate more deserving parents or carers and support SNAPS in the excellent work they do in helping to look after children living with special needs."
Sam Grundy, Chair of SNAPS said: "We are calling for all last minute entries into the first ever Big T awards. From the work we do, we know that there are many people out there who make fantastic contributions to the lives of others. We decided to launch these awards to give people a chance to say a massive thank you to those people and to show their appreciation."
SNAPS is a voluntary group set up and run by the parents and carers of children with special needs. The group has been running since 2004. The group has a management committee and adheres to a constitution. The group is open to any family who has a child with special needs.
Many other charities from across the region are also backing the Big T awards including; People in Action, Leeds Mencap, Little Hiccups, ABC and Daisychain Support Group Leeds.
Nominees and winners will be announced at The Big Tea Party on Monday 27th September, where the 2011 SNAPS Calendar will also be launched.
