Family Forum Fridays
One of Manchester’s leading law firms is offering its family law team expertise to the Cheshire community in an exciting new weekly initiative.
Family Forum Fridays from Irwin Mitchell solicitors will launch in Alderley Edge on Friday 23rd January and provide an informal, no-obligation environment to help families understand their legal options across a wide range of circumstances.
A first for the Cheshire village, the service will be free of charge and aims to offer friendly and supportive advice over a cup of coffee to people. Legal queries concerning children, divorce, money or the settling of cohabitee disputes are expected to be high on the agenda.
Lindsay Jones, who is leading the initiative, explained, "Friday forums will be all about breaking down barriers which sometimes exist between families going through issues and specialist legal professionals who can help. It is deliberately designed to be low key in feel - a genuine coffee and free of charge chat – to help people understand their options."
The first Family Forum Friday will take place on 23rd January 2009 and then every Friday at Barrington House on Heyes Lane from 9.30am -12.30pm.
Lindsay added: "We'll not only advise on the best legal action to take but we can also help with additional support services too including referrals to counselling, therapeutic services and support services including psychologists, parenting consultants, women's shelters, life coaches, mediators and psychotherapists."
Irwin Mitchell’s renowned family law team in Manchester was established in 2007 and is headed up by Elizabeth Tait, a mediator and collaborative lawyer, who specialises in all aspects of relationship breakdown with particular emphasis on children and financial issues.
