I specialise in helping clients who have suffered injuries as a result of negligence by medical professionals. I handle many different types of claim but have a particular interest in spinal and brain injury cases.
From a young age I always wanted to be a solicitor. I studied medical law at university and my interest in this area grew. I also worked in the complaints and litigation department of an NHS Trust during my university holidays and this further interested me in people's concerns about their medical care, how their concerns could be handled and how they could be resolved.
There is real job satisfaction in succeeding in a clinical negligence case for a client and seeing the difference compensation makes to the quality of their life. I also enjoy the challenge of the complex medical and legal issues that often feature in clinical negligence claims.
I have worked at Irwin Mitchell since 2006 and love working within a team of lawyers who are so talented at what they do.
I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, running and swimming.
“Elizabeth and the rest of Mr Byrne’s family have many questions as yet unanswered regarding his death and have been unable to come to terms with their loss as a result.
“It is hoped that the inquest will provide them with the answers they need to be able to accept what has happened and try to move on as best they can from this tragedy.
“One of the most important things to the family now, is to establish what should have been done to change the outcome of Mr Byrne’s time in hospital and whether lessons have been learned to ensure no one else suffers as he did.”
