Gemma Eason

Solicitor

Biography

I am one of five solicitors within the Birmingham Court of Protection department. I manage both Trust and Deputy files and oversee the Statutory Will applications. I am a specialist in advising on the management of personal injury damages by way of Deputy or Trust environment.

What inspired you to get into law?

It is a cliché, but I wanted a career where I would be helping people. I love to learn and with Law you are constantly met with new situations and questions which means that no two days are different.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

Working in Court of Protection it is very difficult to pick one highlight. I find every day brings its own highlights when you are able to achieve something for and with your clients that they would not have otherwise been able to do. Whether this is being able to attend school, go on holidays, take their first steps or being able to live as independently as possible.

What do you do away from the office?

I enjoy baking and my favourite recipe is an apple strudel cake. I love visiting many different places, both home and abroad, my favourite place to date is Kenya, on safari.  I hope to visit Vietnam in the near future. I enjoy thrillers and my latest read was The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.
