Their activity included representatives from the law firm joining many others in London’s Hyde Park on September 19th for the Mouth Cancer Foundation’s annual 10K, 2015 marked also marked its 10th anniversary.  Irwin Mitchell was a major sponsor of the walk which saw over 500 people take part on the day including dental professionals, charity members and supporters.

Irwin Mitchell will be continuing to support the Bite Back at Mouth Cancer campaign over the year ahead with more activity planned during November as part of Mouth Cancer Action Month.

Expert Opinion
“We have been delighted to be the sole legal partner of this campaign and to be involved in helping to raise awareness around the importance of self-checks and signs and symptoms to look out for.

“The Mouth Cancer Foundation does hugely important work not only in terms of raising awareness but ensuring that all of those whose lives have been touched by mouth cancer can get access to the support and advice they need.

“Carrying out the simple examination promoted during the campaign could literally be the difference between life and death, so we would encourage everyone to ensure they are checking themselves regularly.”
Christina Gardiner, Solicitor

Founder of the Mouth Cancer Foundation, Dr Vinod Joshi says “Mouth cancer is becoming a major healthcare concern so it is important to catch it early. Bite Back at Mouth Cancer will play a key role in the early detection of mouth cancer.

“As mouth cancer is on the increase around the world, we urge everyone to take responsibility for their own oral health.  Early diagnosis is imperative in order to save lives.   Dentists can also advise patients how to screen and effectively examine their own mouths."
