We are delighted to be a part of this event and sponsoring the documentary.
“We have been calling for government intervention and greater regulation of the cosmetic surgery industry to protect patient safety for years, after seeing an increasing number of potential claims involving practitioners that are not medically qualified and exposing patients to harm.
"We have seen numerous cases where patients have undergone various cosmetic treatments and been left with both physical and psychological trauma as a result of mistakes or problems during procedures. It is crucial patients raise any queries or concerns and feel comfortable with their decision to go ahead with the procedure before it commences.
“It is also important that further steps are taken to increase regulation in this growing industry to ensure high standards are upheld in the sector, but also to guarantee that individuals responsible for safety failings or mistakes are also held to account.”
Mandy Luckman - Director of Strategic Growth (Seriously Injured and Vulnerable Audience)
Dr Vincent Wong, who produced the documentary, said: “This film is a serious look at the main issues surrounding the aesthetics industry, both from a consumer and professional point of view. We aim to provide the general public with some useful insights into the beauty industry as well as educating and raising awareness about the safety of the sector.
“The creation of every aspect of the programme has been hugely challenging, but fun at the same time. I hope the viewers will find it informative and interesting, and at the same time, help raise funds for The Safety In Beauty. I would also like to thank the film sponsors who include Teoxane, Sinclair IS Pharma and Institute Hyalual.”
Life Is Beauty-Full will be appearing on Sky TV in Summer 2015 and 'Confidence Is Conscienceless' will be released on iTunes and other major online music retailers on Sunday, 30 January 2015.
The press preview screening and first airing of the charity single is being held at the Bvlgari Hotel Cinema in Knightsbridge on 28 January 2015 at 4.00 pm.
