Sheffield Law Firm Employee Climbs Africa’s Highest Mountain For Charity Irwin Mitchell Raising Money For Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity 20.10.2014 An Events Assistant at leading national law firm Irwin Mitchell is tackling a gruelling trek up Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. Hannah Robson, originally from Hull, who works in the law firm’s Sheffield office, is taking on the mammoth seven-day climb up and down the 5,895m mountain in February 2015. The 25-year-old will be walking and climbing for up to 16 hours a day during the trip, contending with a variety of weather conditions, from sunshine to blizzards. In order to take part, Hannah needs to raise at least £3,000 by the middle of November. All the money she raises will go to Irwin Mitchell in Sheffield’s 2014 Charity of the Year, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. It is one of only four dedicated cancer hospitals in England and it provides treatment services to patients throughout the South Yorkshire region and beyond, as well as being internationally recognised as a centre of excellence in the fight against cancer. Hannah said: “I’m very excited about the challenge, but I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work to train beforehand and prepare for the trek. Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity is a very worthwhile cause and I’m very proud to be supporting them through my fundraising. “I’m trying not to worry too much about my strenuous 16-hour days at the moment and am focusing my attention on how I’ll cope without washing my hair for a whole week!” Helen Gentle, Fundraising Manager at Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, said: “We are delighted that Hannah is choosing to support us with her fundraising and wish her the very best of luck on her trek. “We are very grateful for all of the support Irwin Mitchell in Sheffield has given us so far this year and we hope to work with them on even more fundraising events during the rest of 2014.” Anyone wishing to support Hannah can make a donation online at: https://www.justgiving.com/Hannah-Robson7 or text ‘HANH48’ and an amount to 70070.
