Irwin Mitchell has appointed Craig Marshall as Chief Executive for its Personal Legal Services (PLS) Division after Andrew Tucker stepped up from the role to become Group Chief Executive.

Mr Marshall, who takes up his new post from 1 May 2014, will join the Board of Irwin Mitchell Holdings Ltd and will also continue on the Executive Board of Irwin Mitchell LLP, which he has been a member of since May 2011 through his current role as Chief Executive of the firm’s Private Client Legal Services Division.

Announcing his appointment, Andrew Tucker said Marshall, who joined Irwin Mitchell in 2007 through a merger with Glasgow and Manchester-based Golds, has an impressive track record and a strong focus on operational efficiency, excellence and delivery.

Expert Opinion
I am confident that Craig is the right person to continue the outstanding progress we have made in growing our personal legal services offering to clients, and to deliver the plans we have in place to develop the Division further.”

Stuart Henderson, Managing Partner for Personal Injury, has also been appointed as a member of the Irwin Mitchell Executive Board, also from May 1. Mr Henderson has played a lead role in establishing the Personal Injury team at Irwin Mitchell as one of the market leaders and will work closely with Mr Marshall to support the delivery of the Division’s strategic objectives.

The news follows the announcement last week that former Group Chief Executive, John Pickering, was standing down to pursue ambitions of a career as a non-executive director of other businesses and to enable Irwin Mitchell to have a settled management team as it seeks to drive forward with its corporate development plans.
