Irwin Mitchell’s specialist workplace injury team act for the families of workers who have suffered serious injuries or killed at work, as well as victims who have had their lives devastated  by such work accidents.

David Urpeth, a Partner and head of the team, said: “Falls from height are one of the biggest causes of fatalities and serious injuries at work as this terrible case demonstrates.

“Time and time again we see cases in which employers have failed to protect their workers when they are working at height and it is absolutely vital that a full investigation is carried out to assess whether this fatal fall could and should have been avoided.

“Ultimately, it is absolutely vital that lessons can be learned from this and other falls from height to ensure that such an incident is not repeated in the future.”
