City Centre Traffic Disrupted By Collision
Answers are needed as to how an incident which saw a car collide with a tram in Sheffield came to occur, a lawyer from Irwin Mitchell has suggested.
Nicola Meese, an associate solicitor at the law firm, said that the incident on Friday would certainly raise questions about road and tram safety, although those hurt in the crash only suffered minor injuries.
Traffic across the city centre was disrupted by the incident, involving a car, a tram and a van, with Langsett Road closed to traffic and tram services suspended.
Commenting on the crash, road traffic crash expert Nicola Meese said: “It is of course very fortunate that no one was hurt in this incident, but it has undoubtedly raised serious concerns in relation to traffic control measures.
“I urge authorities to take a close look at the events which occurred in the run-up to the crash, as well as how similar incidents could be avoided in the future.
“It is vital that nothing like this happens again, particularly as there is the risk that another accident like this could lead to serious injuries.”
