Fair Worker Hurt In Ride Collision

A worker at a funfair in Birmingham was seriously injured when he was hit by one of the rides.

The man, who was in his 20s, was rushed to hospital after the incident at the site in Summerfield Park, in Selwyn Road, Edgbaston.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said he suffered a serious head injury and was taken to City Hospital for treatment.

Robert Wilkinson, who runs the funfair, said the injured man had been hit by one of the rides but his injuries were not life-threatening.
