Grandmother From Kent Receives Compensation After She Was Hit By A Bus

A 72-year-old grandmother from Kent has received over £20,000 in compensation following a road traffic accident.

She was crossing the road when she was hit by a bus as it turned into a bus station. She suffered a broken ankle as a result.

The bus company denied liability for the accident for nearly four years. However, Claire Bracewell of Irwin Mitchell's specialist Road Traffic Collision team persevered with the claim. Finally an offer in settlement was made after CCTV evidence was released by the bus company.

Our client was held contributory negligent as she could have chosen a safer place to cross the road as there was a crossing facility nearby.
