Irwin Mitchell’s specialist personal injury team in Sheffield have assisted a client to obtain compensation after he was injured in a pub car park whilst on holiday.
Our client suffered an injury as a result of an accident which happened in August 2010. He had been staying at a camping site in Skegness with his family. He and his cousin had arranged to meet family members in a local public house.
Our client and his cousin ran through a public car park. They were not aware that a thick rope had been strung along the entire length of the car park. As our client was running along he ran straight into the rope, which was positioned high. The rope hit the top of his neck and chest and caused him to fall straight to the concrete floor.
Our client suffered a cut to his head, was knocked unconscious and sustained various minor cuts and bruises. Luckily he did not suffer any long term injuries.
Following negotiations responsibility was admitted by the Defendant's insurers and Irwin Mitchell were able to secure £1,800 in compensation for our client.
