In June 2009, our client went to visit a friend who has five dogs, one of which was a male dog.
Our client went to greet the male dog who was lying on the sofa with a bone and without touching the dog, it leapt suddenly at our client and bit the left side of her upper lip.
The dog then went for her arm which sustained teeth lacerations.
Our client attended the hospital where the wounds were washed out and sterile strips were applied. However, she was left with a scar on her arm.
Liability was denied in respect of this claim but an out of court settlement was agreed in the sum of £1,500 compensation for the client.
