A 30 year old Londoner, who now resides in Canada, has received a £10,000 out of Court Settlement for personal injuries she sustained in a cycling accident.
She was cycling home from work in London when her front wheel hit a pot-hole in the carriageway. She lost control of her bicycle and was thrown over the handlebars and landed on the road, head first.
As a result she sustained facial injuries and chipped her two front teeth. Our client has been left with a small but permanent scar to her upper lip and will require future dental treatment to repair her teeth.
Miss Toni Long, Solicitor, of Irwin Mitchell's Birmingham Office pursued a claim against Wandsworth Council for failure to maintain the carriageway. Miss Long stated that "had the Council had an adequate system of inspection and repair in place that they adhered to, this accident could have been prevented".
