Compensation For Man Injured In Accident At Work

Irwin Mitchell have secured compensation for a man who was injured in an accident at work when a crane carrying a steel bar malfunctioned. The fault caused the steel bar to fall and land on his foot. He suffered an injury to his big toe and needed surgery to repair the damage caused.

Our client job involved heavy manual work and as a result of his injuries and the surgery hewas unable to work for several weeks.

Lisa Fairclough, Associate Solicitor in our Sheffield office, acted for the client, she said: I am pleased that we have been able to secure compensation for our client.  It is important that people can go to work each morning knowing that they can rely upon the safety of the equipment that they are working with.  Here, that was not the case and we are hopeful that his employers have undertaken a thorough review of the equipment and work methods that they have in place to prevent other workers being injured in this way".
