I started at Irwin Mitchell as a Paralegal with the Armed Forces Military Injuries Team helping injured service personnel and their families on a variety of issues; including assisting severely injured service personnel with compensation claims (on and off duty), board of inquiry and coroner’s inquests.
I am now a Trainee Solicitor working in the Personal Legal Services sector. I have experience in helping the asbestos team represent mesothelioma and asbestosis patients and their families. I am currently assisting the medical negligence team, dealing with cases concerning:
I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives as well as having a career that I would enjoy and be passionate about but was also stimulating and challenging. That and the fact that I used to love watching law related TV programmes, such as ‘Suits’, so law seemed a good option.
I was drawn to a career in personal legal services as I enjoy client contact and getting to know people, and I think it suits my personality. I wanted to be able to help individuals with decisions that would have an impact on their day to day lives.
The most rewarding aspect of my job is helping to make a difference to a person's life. It could be something that is minor to one person but significant to another. I find it rewarding that I can help people obtain answers arising from difficult situations as well as being able to help them rebuild their lives. Its very fulfilling knowing you have helped make an individual’s life, and their families, that bit better.
I am proud to be a part of Irwin Mitchell because of its commitment to clients. It is passionate about going the extra mile for each client and has a strong focus upon rehabilitating injured people.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, cycling; going for long walks and a good glass of wine.
