I specialise in both international illness claims and accidents abroad which involve foreign laws and jurisdictions. I have successfully acted for thousands of clients, ranging from incidents at hotels, cruises, road traffic accidents abroad and sexual assault.
I have dealt with numerous cases concerning illness outbreaks at hotels, and on cruises, caused by pathogens such as salmonella, campylobacter, cryptosporidium and norovirus. I have also dealt with cases involving E-coli and Legionnaires' disease.
I have an excellent track record of success and have been involved in achieving some fantastic results in relation to damages, costs and successfully winning cases at trial.
I was inspired to take up a career in law as I wanted to provide a voice to those that have been wronged.
The most rewarding aspect of my role is putting a smile on the face of my clients when justice has been obtained for them.
I embrace Irwin Mitchell’s five core values (pioneering and imaginative, approachable and caring, tenacious, efficient and integrity) and feel they capture the principle of providing exceptional support for our clients. Irwin Mitchell always puts clients first and the committed specialist teams work hard to achieve excellent outcomes for our clients.
I enjoy playing sports and travelling, especially to historic cities and sites.
“Our client’s case is another terrible example of the huge impact that gastric illness can have on people, often leaving them with ongoing symptoms which can affect them for a significant amount of time.
“The seriousness of this issue should not be underestimated and we have already commenced investigations into the issues Timothy faced. As part of our enquiries, we would be keen to hear anyone else who may have fallen ill across a similar time period.”
“We are very concerned by the first-hand accounts we have heard regarding the illness problems at the Royalton Punta Cana.
“We already act for clients affected by separate cases of illness at the resort in January 2015 and both June and October 2016, so it is concerning that we have been contacted yet again in relation to problems in this hotel. Gastric illnesses can have a serious long-term impact on the health of those affected, often leaving them with side-effects and conditions which can sometimes be permanent.
“With this in mind, we are determined to help our clients gain the answers regarding what they have faced. As part of our enquiries, we would also be keen to hear from anyone else who faced similar problems.”
“Clearly the holiday Darren, Lisa and Alex were looking forward to, did not turn out how they planned.
“The last thing they expected was Darren and Alex to be struck down by a gastric illness, which effectively meant they lost time on their holiday and had their Christmas ruined.
“Younger people can be more vulnerable to the problems associated with gastric illness and we have seen some instances where victims suffer long-term health complications as a result of developing a gastric illness while spending time abroad.
“The Money’s have told us of a number of safety and hygiene concerns they have and we are investigating the circumstances around their illness in the hope of providing them with the answers they deserve for their ruined holiday.
“If you also travelled to this hotel and have had a similar experience we would like to hear from you to assist with our enquiries.”
“Legionnaires’ disease is very serious and can be fatal if contracted by vulnerable people. We have been instructed to investigate David’s illness to try and to determine what caused it.
“Although at present the root cause in this case is not yet known, the risks of Legionnaires’ disease have been known for many years and there are very strict guidelines in place for hotels to prevent the spread of the disease. They include maintaining hot and cold water within the correct temperature range and strict maintenance of any storage tanks containing water to prevent the transmission of the bacteria.
“If these guidelines are not followed, the effects of an outbreak can be devastating. Following cases of Legionnaires’ disease it is important that the root cause is identified as soon as possible to prevent further holidaymakers being affected.”
