Amandeep Samra

I specialise in both international illness claims and accidents abroad which involve foreign laws and jurisdictions. I have successfully acted for thousands of clients, ranging from incidents at hotels, cruises, road traffic accidents abroad and sexual assault.

I have dealt with numerous cases concerning illness outbreaks at hotels, and on cruises, caused by pathogens such as salmonella, campylobacter, cryptosporidium and norovirus. I have also dealt with cases involving E-coli and Legionnaires' disease.

I have an excellent track record of success and have been involved in achieving some fantastic results in relation to damages, costs and successfully winning cases at trial.

Legal Action After Man Hospitalised By Legionnaires Disease After Greek Holiday

“Legionnaires’ disease is very serious and can be fatal if contracted by vulnerable people. We have been instructed to investigate David’s illness to try and to determine what caused it. “Although at present the root cause in this case is not yet known, the risks of Legionnaires’ disease have been known for many years and there are very strict guidelines in place for hotels to prevent the spread of the disease. They include maintaining hot and cold water within the correct temperature range and strict maintenance of any storage tanks containing water to prevent the transmission of the bacteria. “If these guidelines are not followed, the effects of an outbreak can be devastating. Following cases of Legionnaires’ disease it is important that the root cause is identified as soon as possible to prevent further holidaymakers being affected.”

“This case illustrates the long-term problems that can arise from gastric illnesses and infections caused by Campylobacter. James continues to suffer from symptoms linked to his holiday in Morocco and both he and Paula want to know what caused him to fall so ill. “Campylobacter is the most common cause of food poisoning and from our work we understand just how serious it can be and the life-changing impact these kinds of illnesses can have on those unfortunate enough to develop them. "We have now contacted First Choice and requested that they begin an investigation into the cause of James’ illness and we hope following these investigations, we can provide Paula and James with the answers they want about their ruined holiday, which was intended to be a celebration of James’ 51st birthday. “We would like to hear from anyone else who stayed at the Medina Gardens Hotel who may be able to help with our enquiries.”
