Irwin Mitchell Partner Singled Out As Leading In Field
A Crouch End solicitor is celebrating after being named as one of the ‘Top 100’ lawyers in the country by an industry publication in a year that has also seen her promoted to become the first woman in a senior management position within her firm.
Alison Eddy, London Managing Partner and head of Clinical Negligence in the City’s Irwin Mitchell office was singled out as one of the top 100 leading names to watch out for this year in the legal profession by industry magazine ‘The Lawyer’.
Eddy Specialises in all aspects of clinical negligence, particularly cases involving birth trauma as well as cases involving severe brain injury arising from road crashes.
Record examples this year have included securing a £17m award to cover rehabilitation and lifetime care and support for a 19-year-old left with catastrophic brain injuries after being hit by an out of control car. Another was a £10m award for a brain-damaged baby, where early interim awards meant the family could move to adapted accommodation and therapies and care could be put in place.
Eddy, who has worked for Irwin Mitchell for 17 years, said: “I am honoured to be recognised as one of the country’s leading lawyers in a year that has seen me promoted to a senior managerial role within my firm.
“Management does take an increasing amount of my time and I enjoy leading the office as it provides so much opportunity. However my heart is in making a difference to people whose lives have been devastated by terrible injury, which is why I remain determined to fight hard for my clients.
