When working as a labourer and later as a foreman, our client was exposed to noise from tools and equipment. He worked in the construction industry in general for many years, and suffered industrial deafness in the later years as a direct result.
A claim for industrial deafness compensation was issued in the Sheffield County Court, which settled two weeks before trial with the defendants not contesting liability.
Our client received £6,500 in compensation.
Mark Allen, specialist industrial deafness solicitor, comments: "Whilst I am pleased that my client has been compensated for his hearing loss and tinnitus, this case shows yet again that employers must take care to protect workers from danger and that when they finally provided ear protection it had come too late as the irreversible damage had already been done."
If you or a loved one has suffered from hearing damage such as acoustic shock, tinnitus, and noise-induced hearing loss caused by conditions at work our solicitors could help you claim compensation. See our Industrial Disease Claims page for more information.
