Police Investigating After Vehicle Collided With Railings And Entered Site
Northumbria Police are continuing their investigations after a Go North East bus collided with a car, hit railings and then crashed into headstones in Saltwell Cemetery in Gateshead yesterday (September 4th).
Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following the incident, while 15 passengers were also checking by paramedics at the scene.
Go North East confirmed that the driver of the bus was speaking to the police and added it was planning to fully investigate how the incident occurred.
It is believed that up to 50 headstones in the cemetery were destroyed in the crash.
