Firm’s Real Estate and Corporate Teams Combine To Complete Transaction

The Manchester office of national law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has advised Salford-based asset management company, Spectrum, on its sale of the 106,000 sq ft Cineworld complex in Cardiff for £19m.
The complex which is next to the St David’s Shopping Centre on Mary Ann Street in Cardiff has been acquired by a fund managed by Henderson Global Investors.
Spectrum is a specialist fund management, asset management and debt advisory company which holds properties across a range of sectors including food stores, leisure schemes, offices, high street shops and industrial units.
Real Estate Partner at the Manchester office of Irwin Mitchell, Patrick Duffy, and Corporate Associate, Richard Life, advised Spectrum on the transaction.

Patrick Duffy moved to Irwin Mitchell in February 2013 as part of the firm’s appointment of a 14-strong real estate team from DLA Piper. M&A specialist, Richard Life, joined Irwin Mitchell from Addleshaw Goddard in January 2013 as part of Irwin Mitchell’s plan to build a leading Corporate team within the city. Irwin Mitchell’s recent investment in its business team has also seen the appointment of Corporate Partner, Jon Close and banking and finance specialist, Dean Gormley.
