Preliminary Hearing Held Ahead Of FAI In July
Specialist lawyers representing injured victims of the Glasgow bin lorry crash in December have revealed their hopes of a “thorough and conclusive” investigation, following a preliminary hearing ahead of the Fatal Accident Inquiry (FAI) into the tragedy.
Held at Glasgow Sheriff Court, the preliminary hearing outline the plans for the upcoming FAI into the incident which claimed the lives of six people and left others injured.
Lesley Thomson QC, who is leading the inquiry, confirmed that it will consider three key areas – the driver of the vehicle and his fitness to hold the license, the vehicle and its technical aspects and the safety of the route taken by the vehicle.
Irwin Mitchell Scotland is acting for victims of the crash, while the specialist lawyers are also continuing to work on behalf of those killed and injured in the Clutha helicopter crash in November 2013.
