I am regarded as a specialist in the field of Damages management. This means I assist my clients in managing their personal injury awards. This can be through different avenues, often through the Court of Protection or a Personal Injury Trust.
I am experienced in all forms of Court of Protection property and affairs applications. I often advise lay deputies on their further applications to the court.
I work closely with our PI litigation teams to provide litigation support evidence in the personal injury cases detailing what level of our involvement their clients are likely to need.
When I was at school, I managed to spend a week with a Mental Health Tribunal Judge and sat in on many Tribunals where they were deciding to lift a patient's section. This lead me to decide to study law where I chose similar modules. I ended up practicing Mental Health law for four years before I made the move over to practice under The Mental Capacity Act.
I am on the coal face dealing with clients very personal affairs: their money, house, cars, support workers, holidays etc. My clients open up their life to me and you must treat that level of trust and openness with respect. Many of my clients have catastrophic injuries and every day we are able to make changes to their life to make it easier for them.
I enjoy being part of a team in which every member truly wants the very best for their clients and everyone is working together towards the same goal.
Away from the office, I am running around after my toddler and trying to fit in a social life where I can, including eating out and going to the cinema. I am a bit of a wannabe interior designer and constantly have a project on the go.
