Neerali Madhvani

Solicitor

Biography

I am a Solicitor in the Medical Negligence and Abuse team in Birmingham. I have worked at Irwin Mitchell from September 2013, when I began as a trainee solicitor.

As part of my Medical Negligence practice, I specialise in range of medical law work including cases against hospitals, GPs and private doctors.  I have dealt with a range of cases including cases involving substandard surgery and treatment and delays in diagnosis of cancer and other serious medical conditions and fatalities.  I have also represented families of mental health patients were there are concerns about the quality of treatment they have received.

As part of my Abuse practice, I represent individuals who have experienced sexual and physical abuse and neglect.  I have acted for clients against local authorities, hospitals, schools and religious organisations.

During my time at Irwin Mitchell I have recovered in excess of £3 million in damages for my clients.

What inspired you to get into law?

I decided to pursue a career in law after obtaining work experience at Irwin Mitchell whilst I was at University.  I was able to see first hand the way a solicitor could apply the principles of law and case law I was learning about to help people and make a substantial difference to their lives after they had been through difficult experiences and suffered serious injuries. I could also see how diverse and interesting the work was.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

The most rewarding aspect of my role is getting to work so closely with clients and taking them through their legal journey from start to finish.

What do you do away from the office?

When I am not at work I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my friends and family. I am also a keen traveller and love going away on holiday

Roger Caffrey Abuse Case: Victim Of Former Teacher Instructs Specialist Lawyers

“High profile abuse cases involving Savile or other celebrities have encouraged many people who have suffered historical abuse to come forward in recent years, with such victims often feeling confident that their claims will now be treated both sensitively and seriously. “This is another shocking case where a teacher abused his position of trust and in the process has devastated the lives of those he targeted. “Following our instruction, we have begun our own investigations into the case and are determined to ensure that our client will get the justice she deserves after everything she has faced. It is also vital that lessons can be learned from these cases of historical abuse so that no one else faces such terrible ordeals in the future.”
