I am an Associate Chartered Legal Executive in the residential property team based in the Sheffield office.
I deal with a variety of matters including:
- transfers of equity
- lease extensions (where the terms have been agreed)
- separate representation (acting for lender only)
- voluntary first registrations
I particularly specialise in sales of deceased estates and trust sales, purchases and assents. I also deal with all aspects of residential property such as sales and purchases for freehold and leasehold properties. I have dealt with numerous shared ownership properties, new build properties and surrendering non-assignable leases.
"Mark Clegg was my solicitor covered by Sophie Bray when he was on annual leave. An excellent service where I genuinely believed they had my interest at heart. Thank you for supporting me with the purchase of my new home" – Former client
What inspired you to get into law?
I have always been fascinated how quickly law can change and develop particularly in modern society (sometimes over night - for example, rules in relation to stamp duty) but more so over the last century.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I particularly enjoy a transaction coming to a close that may have been complicated. There is nothing better than a happy client at the end of a transaction who is grateful for the work undertaken, particular first-time buyers who have a lack of experience and may find the process overwhelming.
What do you do away from the office?
Out of work, I run 3-4 nights and often take part in running events including both the Sheffield 10k and half-marathon. I also play for a 5-a-side football team.
I qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2017.
