My role as a Client Liaison Manager is varied and challenging. It consists of specialising in facilitating rehabilitation for clients referred by the legal teams. This includes visiting clients at home to undertake an assessment of their immediate and long term needs. Following the assessment, I am responsible for co-ordinating the appropriate services for clients and their families which will meet their needs.
I also help to provide education for clients and their families in regards to supporting the changes in their lifestyle, as a consequence of their injury. I liaise with local services, professionals and agencies about ongoing rehabilitation programmes and care needs for the client as well as provide practical support for clients with issues such as budgeting, benefit applications, benefit appeals and tribunals, coping strategies, setting rehab goals and support with ongoing rehabilitation issues. Once the goals are set, I monitor the progress of the clients' rehabilitation to maintain a consistent and co-ordinated approach.
Part of my role consists of liaising transfer for clients from hospital to home or other settings, assessing aids and equipment and care packages for them, and facilitating adaptations for clients and purchase of vehicles. I also attend medicolegal appointments and driving assessments with clients.
