I am a solicitor specialising in medical negligence, based in our Sheffield office. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and I am also registered as a practising solicitor in Spain, England and Wales.
On a day-to-day basis, I represent clients who have suffered an injury as a result of negligent medical treatment. I have a varied caseload, including delays in diagnosis and treatment, surgical negligence, failed orthopaedic treatment and fatal cases.
I also assist Julianne Moore on particularly complex and high value cases.
A review of the ‘right to die’, Nursing and Residential Care journal (NRC), July 2014, vol 16, no 7, page 410.
“I would like to reiterate my positive experiences when dealing with yourself and Irwin Mitchell. I consider your firm to have the highest standards of integrity and honesty.
“You definitely go the extra mile and I think the service you gave was exceptional.” – Vivian, Hinckley
I studied Law with Hispanic Law at University College London, before going on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law.
One of my favourite subjects at university was Medical Law and Ethics. I was attracted by the interplay of medicine and law and the difficult ethical questions that can arise from the practice of medicine.
Health care often impacts on aspects which are intimate and central to a person's life. This is why I strongly believe in patient autonomy.
I enjoy finding answers for my clients and helping them understand the treatment that they have received. In cases where there has been clear substandard medical practice, I am rewarded when I see that justice is ultimately achieved and any inbalances are corrected meaning that individuals can move on with their life even after injury.
I enjoy working in a great team of knowledgeable, innovative and experienced lawyers.
I enjoy travelling (particularly if there is skiing involved), languages and discovering new cultures and places.
“We are delighted to be able to deliver this service to the community in Barnsley and to raise awareness of the health issues people can face, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle.
“It can sometimes be difficult to come to terms with health problems and approach medical professionals for advice on general health and lifestyle. However this informal event will provide people with the opportunity to come along and learn more about what help and advice is available to them.”
