Katie has a particular specialism in contentious work such as Employment Tribunals and has successfully brought and defended claims across a wide range of areas, including unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing. Katie has a particular interest in misconduct dismissals and sex discrimination cases and has experience of successfully representing her clients in the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
She is well versed in advising both employers and employees, which enables her to provide commercial and objective advice on day to day employment issues.
Katie also works in the specialist Legal Expenses Insurance Team, representing both employees and employers who have the benefit of legal expense insurance funding.
Katie is also able to advise on business immigration issues that arise within the employment context. She assists her clients to keep up to date with the ever changing rules issued by the UKBA. Typically, Katie advises in relation to the business visitor rules, the points-based system and the implications these have on the recruitment and/or termination of migrant workers.
Katie qualified as a solicitor in 2010.
