I am an associate solicitor in the Family team and have been with Irwin Mitchell for over 5 years. I work in all areas of family law, including divorce, financial matters and disputes involving children. I am particularly passionate about assisting clients with adoption and surrogacy.
I give practical advice to clients, with a sensitive but professional approach and provide a great level of service to all my clients.
What inspired you to get into law?
From a very early age, I loved Ally McBeal. I was always interested in the inner workings of the court room, the lawyers and the way cases were presented and of course the glamorous lifestyles. From there my interests developed and I was never interested in pursuing any other career.
One of my teachers once told me I could argue my way out of a paper bag and when it came time to choose my university course, Law seemed the obvious option for me. After a lot of hard work, I achieved my goal, although it is slightly less glamorous than the life of Ally and her colleagues at Cage and Fish.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Working with clients on a daily basis to help them towards a satisfactory resolution of their matter. It is really rewarding knowing that I have helped clients in what are very often stressful situations.
What do you do away from the office?
Outside of the office, I’ll mostly be found in the gym, working off the many yummy treats which are usual found in the office. Having only recently moved into Birmingham, I am enjoying exploring everything that the city has to offer.
“Hollie handled my divorce. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She kept the whole thing straightforward, gave me reassurance when I needed it and was very prompt in all our communications. Hollie is friendly and approachable yet very professional and her fee was reasonable too. Thanks Hollie.” - Client
