Ashleigh Carr

I act on behalf of clients based nationally and internationally, in a wide range of contentious Will, Trust and Estate disputes, and have recently been named as one of the 2017 eprivateclient Top 35 Private Client Practitioners Under 35.

I have particular experience in dealing with claims concerning the validity of a Will, claims for reasonable provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and trustee and executor disputes.

My role is mainly to resolve clients’ contentious issues. I achieve this by undertaking legal and/or factual investigations into each client’s situation; providing clients with tailored advice as to the way forward; corresponding with other parties to reach a resolution if possible; and dealing with court proceedings when necessary.

I can only say that I have never met such a dedicated young professional who truly is a rising star. I have never before and suspect never again been so impressed with the level of service provided, anywhere at any time, I really feel that Ashleigh Carr, especially and Irwin Mitchell are outstanding and am a client for life. - Amanda Richards

Very efficient service from Ashleigh Carr and her team dealing with my contentious inheritance issues. During this very difficult period, Ashleigh was empathetic to my situation, and persevered down every legal angle possible to help me with a positive outcome. Ashleigh kept me up to date every step of the way and explained complex legal jargon in simple terms. I would highly recommend Ashleigh's services if anyone is faced with related issues. Her empowering approach helped to keep me going even though I am wrapped in grief. - Anonymous

What inspired you to get into law?

I was inspired to pursue a career in law as I wanted to combine my passion for people with my sense of commerciality and interest in our ever evolving legal landscape.

Specialising in Wills, Trusts and Estates disputes gives me the opportunity to work closely with individuals who find themselves in difficult circumstances, to negotiate with adversaries and to problem solve in a fascinating area of law.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

Given the nature of my work, I often act on behalf of clients who are going through a very difficult time. It is therefore extremely rewarding to provide a high level of service to clients, and support them both personally and professionally to a successful conclusion.

What do you do away from the office?

I am a keen runner and hockey player. I love to travel to new places, and enjoy spending my free time cooking, reading and visiting friends and family who are scattered all over the UK.
