Amy Hodgson

Solicitor

Biography

I am a Solicitor specialising in personal injury law; I work in the Serious Injury team in Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol office. I represent individuals in the South West who have sustained catastrophic injuries as a result of an accident, including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and serious orthopaedic injuries. I also represent individuals who have suffered serious psychological injuries including PTSD.

I support individuals through the whole process from initiating a claim to final settlement. I work to help my clients get the treatment and rehabilitation they need in order to return to their pre-accident life as much as possible following a life-changing injury.

What Inspired You To Get Into Law?

I first became interested in studying law after becoming a member of Amnesty International whilst at school. Although I remain interested in and passionate about human rights, whilst at University I decided that I wanted to pursue a career as a solicitor in personal injury law.

What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?

The most rewarding aspect of my role is being able to support my clients at such a difficult and challenging time in their lives. I aim to secure early interim payments of damages and in doing so enable my clients to fund the treatment and support they need at an early stage, maximising their rehabilitation as much as possible. I find it incredibly rewarding to see the difference a claim can make after an individual has been through a life-changing accident.

What Do You Do Away From The Office?

In my spare time I enjoy exploring the city and socialising with friends, often involving food at one of the many great restaurants in Bristol.
