Report Reveals 60 Cases Of Alleged Poor Care Have Been Identified

Reports that around 60 separate cases of baby or mother deaths have been identified in relation to Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust are hugely concerning and must be thoroughly investigated, according to legal specialists.

An exclusive report by the Health Service Journal has revealed that more cases of alleged poor care had been revealed at the trust, which was already being investigated for failures linked to 23 families.

It is thought that the issues uncovered span a 19-year period, with the most recent deaths highlighted relating to December 2017 when a mother and two babies died in separate incidents.

There are now major concerns that the problems could even be much larger in scale than the issues previously revealed regarding care at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust.
