Irwin Mitchell Provides Support As Part Of Don’t Quit, Do It Initiative
A talented Boccia player from Durham has received an equipment boost after receiving funding from Irwin Mitchell as part of the law firm’s ongoing commitment to supporting disability sport initiatives.
Thomas Jackson, 26 from Thornley, competes both regionally and nationally in competitions related to Boccia, a game similar to bowls which is played by those across the globe who have physical disabilities.
He has now received a £500 grant from Irwin Mitchell which he has put towards the purchase of a new head pointer, equipment which will prove vital as he prepares to enter more competitions in the autumn.
The law firm has provided the funding as part of its ongoing Don’t Quit, Do It initiative, which aims to highlight the benefits of disability sport and provide support to emerging talent in a range of disciplines. The campaign is backed by multiple gold medal-winning Paralympian Hannah Cockroft MBE.
Angela Kirtley, a Partner and medical negligence expert at Irwin Mitchell’s Newcastle office, said:
