Sunday Mirror Investigation Found That Girls In Telford Were Targeted By ‘Grooming Gangs’
Expert child abuse lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have praised the bravery of people coming forward to report they were sexually exploited in Telford.
Assistant Chief Constable Martin Evans, of West Mercia Police, confirmed that a number of new survivors have come forward to report abuse and they were being given appropriate support. According to the BBC, he also confirmed that the dedicated child sexual exploitation team in Telford has arrested 56 people, resulting in 29 charges, in the last two years and investigations were still ongoing.

“The details which have emerged in this case are truly shocking and the ongoing investigations into the matter are welcome.
“Recent reports and subsequent confirmation by Mr Evans that more people have come forward as survivors of child sexual exploitation in Telford are an obvious cause for concern though.
“It is important that the true extent of the issue is established and that those who are survivors of it are given the support they need following their brave actions in coming forward.
