Appointment Sees Lisa Swales Join The Firm As Senior Associate

Irwin Mitchell has announced the appointment of Lisa Swales as a senior associate in the firm’s number one ranked medical negligence team in Leeds.

Birth injury specialist Lisa qualified as a lawyer in 2007 at Ison Harrison, having graduated from the University of Birmingham. Upon qualifying, Lisa moved to Simpson Millar as a medical negligence solicitor in September 2007, working her way up to associate in 2012 and then partner in 2015.

The most recent independent Legal 500 UK Guide and Chambers UK Guides to the best lawyers in the country ranked Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds medical negligence team as number one in the region.

Lisa specialises in helping patients who have suffered birth injuries, including cerebral palsy, erb’s palsy and acting for mothers injured during labour. She recently settled a claim for a client with cerebral palsy for over £13 million which will cover a life-time of 24/7 care and specialist rehabilitation as well as equipment and adaptations to the client’s home.
