Free Seminar Event Aimed to Provide Clarity on Inheritance Tax Laws
Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth’s Chichester office is hosting a free seminar explaining the rules surrounding Inheritance Tax and how gifts to charities can be used to the public’s advantage.
The seminar aims to make more people aware of the tax benefits available to them by shedding light on the often complex laws about Inheritance Tax and gifts to charity, both by will and in the donor’s lifetime. The seminar will also focus on ways a will can be varied after death to help charities, with little cost to a family.
Recent research by Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth revealed that:
- 42% of over 40s still don’t have a will
- Less than a third of people know the intestacy rules
- 70% admit they wouldn’t know where to start in administering an estate
The seminar will take place on Wednesday 9th August at Pallant House Gallery at 10:30am.
Expert Opinion
“Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth’s Chichester office is looking forward to hosting this free seminar, which will shed light on what can be a myriad of issues for families if attempted without specialist guidance.
“Our aim as legal experts in wills and estates is to make sure that our clients as well as the general public are aware of the tax benefits available to them. If we can help just one person understand the complexities of lifetime gifts and inheritance tax laws, then have them update their will accordingly, the seminar will have made a difference.” Anthony Nixon - Partner
