Nomination Sees Law Firm Eyeing Up A Hat-Trick Of Team Wins
National law firm Irwin Mitchell has been shortlisted for five awards at the Northern Law Awards, which are due to be held on Thursday, 1 June at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead.
Among its five nominations the law firm has been shortlisted in the Personal Injury/Clinical Negligence Team of the Year category, an award that the team in Newcastle has won for the previous two years.
The Newcastle office also finds itself shortlisted in a new category introduced for this year’s awards, the Employer of the Year Award. The award recognises investment in employees, including training and promoting good practice and innovation in the work place.
The final three nominations are all individual nominations, seeing the firm listed in the Law Practice Management, Rising Star of the Year, and Trainee of the Year categories.
Michelle Beat, Head of PLS Business Development, has been shortlisted in the Law Practice Management category for her outstanding contribution to the office’s success and her leadership and strategic thinking.
Personal Injury Solicitor, Emma Crowther, has been shortlisted for the Rising Star of the Year Award. Emma, who specialises in workplace and asbestos-related illness claims as well as abuse cases, has been shortlisted thanks to, amongst other things, her excellent legal and client service skills.
The final individual nomination sees Kimberley Fryer shortlisted for the Trainee of the Year Award. Kimberley has been rewarded for her significant development with her shortlisting for this award, which was won by an Irwin Mitchell employee last year when Helen Smith, a Trainee Solicitor in the Public Law team in Newcastle, took the award home.
Paula Myers, Irwin Mitchell’s Regional Managing Partner for Newcastle, said: “This is a tremendous achievement for the whole office and also Michelle, Emma and Kimberley. These nominations are tribute to the continued effort and hard work that we all put in on behalf of our clients.”
Francesca Mayes, the Regional Managing Partner for Personal Injury at Irwin Mitchell’s Newcastle office, said:
