Expert Travel Lawyers Call For Thorough Investigation Into Reported Problems At Zante Hotel
Travel lawyers who specialise in helping holidaymakers who have suffered illness at resorts across the world have revealed their concerns regarding new reports of an outbreak at Thomas Cook’s Savvas Hotel, Zante.
According to MailOnline, dozens of holidaymakers, including university students Becky Robson and Millie Schofield, are thought to have developed gastric illness symptoms including stomach cramps, diarrhoea and sickness, with doctors suspecting they may have contracted E.Coli
Thomas Cook has told the newspaper it was aware of a small number of cases and an investigation is underway.
Following the reports, specialist travel lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have urged the tour operator to ensure that a thorough investigation is undertaken and steps are taken to reduce the risk of others being affected by the reported issues.

Expert Opinion
We are very concerned to hear reports of a possible illness outbreak at the Savvas Hotel in Zante and it is vital that, if not already done so, action is taken to tackle the issues and provide reassurances that holidaymakers are protected from potential risks.

“Our work representing thousands of victims of holiday illnesses every year means we understand just how serious these problems can be and the long-term health implications they can have, as well as the impact on victims’ day-to-day lives back in the UK.

“With this in mind, it is vital every possible step is taken to understand the source of this reported illness in order to ensure that – where possible – lessons can ultimately be learned which will improve safety.
