Medical Negligence Lawyers Call For Swift Improvement In Humberside Mental Health Services

Expert medical negligence lawyers at law firm Irwin Mitchell have called for a swift improvement in mental health services on Humberside after the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated Humber NHS Foundation Trust's mental health service inadequate.

The regulatory body reported that the mental health services provided by the Trust are “unsafe” and “requires improvement”.

Concerns were raised over the training provided to staff handling patients with mental health issues and also the number of staff available to deal with patients.

Dr Paul Lelliott, the deputy chief inspector of hospitals, said that the Trust had a number of issues to address and pointed out that the investigation, which took place in April 2016, highlighted the Trust has not learnt lessons from the findings of the previous CQC inspection in 2014.

Mental health services are absolutely vital in providing the help and support those suffering with mental health issues require.
